Frank J. Nicolosi, MD, JD,
was recommended to Governor Bruce Rauner by the Illinois State Medical Society
for appointment to the Illinois Medical Disciplinary Board.
Dr. Nicolosi’s appointment
was confirmed by the Illinois Senate on March 19, 2015.
The Illinois Medical
Disciplinary Board, comprised of seven physicians and four members of the
public, is an advisory board that reviews complaints against physicians and
makes recommendations to the Secretary of the Illinois Department of Financial
and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
Dr. Nicolosi has been on the
active staff of Rockford Memorial Hospital since 1990. He served as chairman of
the Department of Family Medicine at Rockford Memorial Hospital from 1994 to
1998. He was president of the Winnebago County Medical Society in 2012 and
2013. Dr. Nicolosi currently serves as
Chairman of the Illinois State Medical Society’s Medical Legal Council. He is a
clinical assistant professor of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford in the Department of
Family and Community Medicine.
Dr. Nicolosi is board
certified in Family Medicine and by the American Board of Urgent Care. He is a member of the Illinois, Florida and
District of Columbia bar associations.
Dr. Nicolosi is looking
forward to serving on the Medical Disciplinary Board and serving the people of
Illinois. The Disciplinary Board meets the first and third Wednesday of every
month at the Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation offices in Chicago.
